Hi ,
2009 - the Chinese Year of the Ox. What does it mean?
The Ox, or the Buffalo sign symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work. The Ox is methodical and calm, dependable and patient. It looks like we've got an honest, candid and open natured year ahead.
And about time! after the trials and tribulations of 2008 - the Year of the (dirty) Rat! This year it's back to basics. We need truthfulness and sincerity not spin. We need patience and endurance not wheeling and dealing. This is a year for tilling the soil and planting seeds.
In an Ox Year it's also imortant to look for sanctuary at home. Find relaxation. Grow a garden. Connect with nature. And allow yourself peace and quiet to work through your ideas. What you plant in 2009 will yield bountiful fruit by 2010/11.
So take the time to think and plan. Embed your concepts and programs in careful thought and research. Once you set your mind on something this year you will be inclined to follow it through with unusual determination and persistence.
And it's time to look for and acknowledge loyalty - a strong feature of an Ox Year. Be resilient and robust in your commercial dealings. This year isn't about the quick win. It's about shoring up relationships at their most fundamental level - trust, confidence, respect, dependability, and compassion.
No matter what adversity confronts you this year become like an Ox - unswervingly patient, tireless in your work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship. Do this and you will build a solid foundation for the next decade!
Famous Ox People: Barack Obama, Catherine Freeman, Heather Locklear, Jane Fonda, Jack Nicholson, Juliette Lewis, Margaret Thatcher, Meg Ryan, Meryl Streep, Princess Diana, Vivien Leigh and George Clooney.
, I wish you a careful, considered and prosperous year ahead. Just don't go at it like a bull in a china shop!
Keep your intentions clear,
Peter Webb
